Clean lines combined with antique furniture pieces. These words describe exactly the interior of the Bogers family from Bergen op Zoom. The family has a classic piano as a showpiece in the middle of the living room on their sleek cast floor. An extensive process preceded the choice of an EPI the cast floor.

Doubts

The family wanted a sleek, solid, clean floor on which they could create the right atmosphere with their special antique furniture. They were hesitant to have a cast floor installed in their newly built home because they were concerned about the risk of cracking. To remove this doubt, they called on EPI for advice. Our showroom advisor was indeed able to remove all doubts and so they confidently chose an EPI Superbase floor with EPI crack-bridging membrane.

A crack in a cast floor is often caused by a crack in the subfloor. The EPI Membrane as an intermediate layer offers 99% certainty. The crack-bridging membrane is placed under the screed and also reduces impact noise by 15dB! Ideal for when you have children playing, like the Bogers family.

Floor Choice

The family wanted a cast floor with light gray tones, to combine well with earthy and warm colors. Tom Bogers explains, “Thanks to the large color panels and treads in the showroom, our choice was quickly made. In addition, we had the wish that the floor could be used in combination with underfloor heating.” The EPI Superbase has the features they were looking for and is the best choice for them. The Bogers family ultimately chose the color Silver Sand.

After six months

The Superbase cast floor with EPI Membrane has now been in their newly built home for several months. The floor is easy to maintain and they are still receiving positive reactions. “Highly recommended!” says Tom Bogers.
