Since a few months Olga is the proud owner of a penthouse in Almere. The penthouse is situated on the eleventh floor of an apartment complex and overlooks the water with Amsterdam on one side and the Gooi on the other. The house was designed in consultation with an interior stylist and an architect.

“We wanted to change a few things about the interior, so we first met with the architect,” Olga says. “After we were happy with the new layout, we hired an interior stylist to help with the styling. That was such a fun process. I specified exactly what colors I liked and the stylist then went to work on that.”

Enthusiastic about cast floors

Olga chose the floor herself. She explains, “The owners of Karakter Vloeren in Naarden are good acquaintances of ours, so we visited their showroom. We became so enthusiastic about EPI’s cast floors that we organized an information evening for all fellow residents of the apartment complex. Karakter Vloeren told and showed all kinds of things that evening. A few neighbors now have a little regret about the floor they chose,” says Olga.

Mixing and application

“Since we opted for a neutral interior, we wanted a floor with a blend color, Olga continues her story. “I was present at the mixing and at the application of the first square meters, so I could specify exactly how I wanted the color. The floor turned out exactly as we envisioned and we are super happy with it. Everyone who comes over to our place really likes it. I haven’t heard anything negative about the floor yet!”

Seamless and barrier-free

Olga is also pleased that she allowed the floor to continue in the other rooms and even in the closets. “Because the floor is fitted throughout, we don’t have any annoying seams or thresholds anywhere. The floor is easy to clean and easy to maintain. I would so choose a cast floor ven EPI again! It is a tremendously beautiful and convenient floor and the combination with underfloor heating makes the floor extra cozy and comfortable.”
