Did you know that a cast floor feels nice and cool in the summer?
That a cast floor feels wonderfully comfortable in winter, especially in combination with underfloor heating is no secret. But did you know that a cast floor is also very nice and cool to the touch in the summer?
Read in our blog about why you want to have a cast floor even in the summer.
Why is it that a cast floor feels so comfortable in the summer?
The cast floor feels cool because the material of the floor takes on the ambient temperature. At ground level, it is always several degrees cooler than at the height where you feel it. Hence, cast floor feels nice and cool when it is warm.
Should you be the proud owner of a heat pump, you can use it to cool your floor in the same way you heat your floor in winter. Due to the low thickness of 2-3 mm, a cast floor is an ideal combination with the heat pump.
An often overlooked advantage of a heat pump is that the process of heating can also be reversed. The heat pump then makes not hot, but cold water with which to lower the temperature of your home. With increasingly hot summers, you then enjoy a comfortable indoor climate all year round.
The sun has no influence
Our cast floors don’t yellow in the sun, they are made of UV resistant aliphatic polyurethane, so don’t worry if the sun shines directly on your cast floor. You can move your furniture around just fine afterwards, you won’t see any difference.
The photo shows a yellowing floor on the left and our aliphatic polyurethane floor on the right. The photo was taken in the showroom where this is laid as an example. The floor on the left is the Gusto floor, a polyurethane-based terrazzo floor.
Would you like to see our cast floors in real life and hear the technical story? Then come to our showroom and be advised.
